Zimbabwe remains safe.

The Australian Cricket team which is scheduled to visit Zimbabwe should not worry for its safety as the country remains a safe destination.

The Bulawayo incident should not spoil the integrity of our security systems, as investigations are currently on-going to bring the culprits to book.

The country has an excellent record of protecting cricketers, a case in point, the recently-held triangular series which went on smoothly without any security scare.

It is well known, there are disgruntled elements bend on stabilizing the prevailing peaceful environment currently subsisting in the country for their own nefarious agendas but Zimbabwe remains resolute to maintain peace as being propagated by the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The security of the two visiting teams Pakistan and Aussie is guaranteed they should not read much into the incident in Bulawayo as it remains an isolated incident not reflective of the situation in the whole of Zimbabwe.

Australia should take a leaf from the Pakistan Cricket team which is likely to arrive anytime from now despite the grenade scare. Issues of sport should not mix with politics; the grenade scare will not happen anywhere else as security has been tightened at such public gathering.

History should not repeat itself when on two occasions Australia cancelled two tours to Zimbabwe in 2007 and 2017. The International Cricket Council is free to send its delegation and assess the security situation in the country.

Zimbabwe is safe and the peaceful environment will be maintained for the security of all Zimbabweans and our esteemed visitors.
