MDC ALLIANCE WARMS UP FOR VIOLENCE

By Brightface Mutema

It now appears that with economic, political and social stability, the MDC Alliance has no more rhetoric to say and resorts to violent means in the quest to snatch an electoral victory.

While addressing a handful of MDC Alliance supporters in Mabvuku recently, PDP leader Tendai Biti told the gathering that the only electoral victory acceptable to the Alliance was their own and not otherwise.

He pointed out that the Alliance would resort to anarchy in the event that ZANU PF wins. “We will instigate civil disobedience and make the country ungovernable if ZANU PF wins the elections”, charged Biti.

Biti’s sentiments corroborated with his Principal’s vows that the only proof of a free, fair and credible election was an Alliance victory, without which will be greeted and confronted with “red”, insinuating a bloodbath.

Biti went on to say some blatant claims that ZANU PF Government had purchased weapons worth one hundred thousand United States dollars (USD100.000.00) in preparation for any eventuality.

Typical of the whole Alliance outfit, these claims were baseless and possibly a pointer to what they are doing in preparation for the alleged anarchy that they are threatening.

Speaking at the same rally, Komichi said that the Alliance would win the elections with more than sixty percent (60%) of the total votes. These were his own claims probably to substantiate Biti’s, so as to justify their violence in the event of a defeat.

One, however, needs to be reminded of numerous surveys done by the Afro Barometer and other research institutes that tipped President Emerson Mnangagwa of a landslide victory that typified Mugabe’s 2013.
