Women in Tourism have pledged commitment to significantly contribute to the national tourism revenues.

“#ZITF2019 was a grand opportunity through which we managed to engage at a strategic business level promoting our cultural artefacts. With great investment and product refinement, we will significantly contribute to the national tourism revenues,” the Women in Tourism group posted on their twitter handle today.

Bulawayo Metropolitan Affairs Minister, Judith Ncube, speaking on a one-day business seminar held at Bulawayo hotel a day before the ZITF kicked off, urged women to take up the opportunities that Government has availed to them and market their products.

“Government has empowered you with exhibitions such as (the) ZITF to market yourselves. I would like to advise that we need to take advantage of these opportunities and the empowerment that the Government has given to us as women,” Minister Ncube said.

Government continues to support women in all developmental programmes. In this regard, President Emmerson Mnangagwa opened a Women`s Bank last year to assist women who do not have capital to start their business.

President Mnangagwa said that the setting up of the Women’s Bank was consistent with the provisions of the constitution for the promotion of inclusivity of women in the economy and gender mainstreaming in all developmental programmes.
