Chamisa castigated for humiliating wife

Social media users have castigated MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa for humiliating his wife, Sithokozile in front of the MDC supporters who had gathered for the party’s 20th anniversary celebrations saying he lacks respect for women.

The video showing Chamisa grabbing the microphone from his wife went viral as she was in the middle of giving a few remarks during the celebrations held this weekend at Rufaro Stadium.

Panashe Chigumadzi posted on his twitter handle saying, “We’re in serious trouble if Chamisa is Zimbabwe’s future. He uses conservative Christianity to mask his toxic homophobic, sexist masculinity.”

Posting on her twitter handle, Martha Chikata said, “This is deplorable, @nelsonchamisa has no respect for women, I said it before and will say it again. Seriously pane vanhu kudaro kuzoti pavari vega #shameful.”

Shingirayi Mari also expressed disgust at Chamisa’s conduct saying, “Snatching a mic like this in front of many people is wrong in all respects.”

Ghetoluv B Ghetoluv wrote on his twitter handle saying, “Honestly it makes many people wonder what kind of a man he is in his house. He should have asked politely so it does not seem like MDC is not organised in terms of giving speeches. And he has to groom his wife in public speaking. So she gets known and help him campaign.”

Posting on her twitter handle, one only identified as Mwana WaMambo said, “Woowww! As a woman I am outraged, it is those little things that demean the value of a person before others! Zvakafanana nekuzoti aargh vakanovhiyiswa mbudzi ukutamba! We all know what kuvhiyiswa mbudzi means...”

Godfrey Chigona posted on his twitter handle saying, “As much as I would like to defend Chamisa, what he did to his wife is indefensible.  It is stupid for a leader to act in that fashion. He needs to calm down and give thoughts before acting. There was really no need for such atrocious act in public.”
