Chamisa worried about information leakages within CCC

The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has issued a serious threat to the party’s information tsars over the increased leakage of confidential information to the public through the media.

A source within that party told this publication that Chamisa recently convened a meeting for the interim CCC secretaries for information and heavily cautioned them against the practice of leaking information, making it clear that he not tolerate information leakages within that party.

“Last week Chamisa convened a special meeting for the interim secretaries for information and cautioned them against leaking information to the media. He warned the secretaries that they should not share party information with members of other political parties. Chamisa threatened to descend heavily on anyone caught leaking or discussing CCC business with the media without authorisation from him,” said the source.

According to the source, Chamisa told attendees that they should not be too close to defectors who were coming from ZANU PF and MDC T, as some of them might be spies.

“Chamisa warned the secretaries for information not to be too close to defectors as some of them might be spies send to harvest CCC’s confidential information. He said defectors were welcome in the party but they should not be privileged with the internal details of the party’s operations,” said the source.

The same source said that Chamisa’s meeting with the interim secretaries for information came in the aftermath of the leakage of several CCC secret documents to the media.

Efforts to get a comment from CCC interim national spokesperson were futile as her mobile phones were not reachable.
