President Mnangagwa urges youths to register to vote

While addressing people at the burial of the late Cde Kanhanga at the Heroes Acre yesterday, President Mnangagwa urged the youths to register to vote as the nation draws closer to elections.

President Mnangagwa emphasised on the issue of voter registration and urged the youths and every citizen to register to vote and vote for ZANU PF.

" As the 2023 General Hamornised General Elections draw closer, I call upon all our citizens to register to vote to defend, consolidate and advance the gains of our independence. Let's continue to say NO to violence, while remaining vigilant against the machinations of our detractors", said President Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa further encouraged the youths to emulate the works of liberation war heroes as they sacrificed their lives so that Zimbabwe enjoys its independence.

"Our youth the vanguard and future of the nation should be keen to emulate the youth of 1960 and 70s whose vision and sacrifice yielded the independence and sovereignty we enjoy today," he said.

He mentioned that youths should take part in developmental projects initiated by the Government and take advantage of the agro industry. He further urged the youths to stay focused and be success driven.

"I challenge the youth to find space in the agriculture value chain to increase production and productivity across the sector and related agro industries The youth have the duty to defend our independence and develop our mother land, Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo. The youth should be focused, goal driven and hard working," said President Mnangagwa.

Meanwhile, in his address, President Mnangagwa reiterated that the nation continues to strengthen relations with other nations  within SADC and beyond hence the people of Zimbabwe should take advantage of the deepening relations between Zimbabwe, Belarus and Equatorial Guinea.

"My administration will therefore continue to consolidate relations within Africa and beyond for the benefit of our country, SADC and the continent as a whole. In this spirit, our country must take full advantage of our deepening relations with Belarus and Equatorial Guinea, following the recent high level visits", said President Mnangagwa.
