New Cabinet recognises gender

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has just announced members of his cabinet to help him deliver his election promises within the next five years.

Much to the people’s appreciation, President Mnangagwa appointed a diverse, dynamic, youthful and streamlined cabinet with the skills and experience required to move this nation forward.

For over 38 years Zimbabwe had never appointed a woman to a powerful Ministry such as Finance, Defence, Local Government and Foreign Affairs, however, today President Mnangagwa recognised the strength in the women of this land and appointed Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri to the all-powerful Ministry of Defence and War Veterans, Sekesai Nzenza to the Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare and Kirsty Coventry will head the Youths, Sports, Arts and Recreation.

Meanwhile, the old wine for wisdom and guidance Monica Mutsvangwa and Sithembiso Nyoni will head the Ministries of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services and Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development respectively.  The new cabinet is expected to deliver tangible results especially in their first hundred days in office and going forward.  The new cabinet has elevated Zimbabwean women and we commend President Mnangagwa for making these appointments in the upliftment of women.
