President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on ZANU PF members to remain loyal, patriotic, and dedicated as the party continues to drive its national development agenda.

Addressing the 383rd Ordinary Session of the ZANU PF Politburo in Harare on Tuesday, President Mnangagwa emphasised the importance of servant leadership and prioritising the needs of the people.

“It is critically important that cadres assigned to leadership positions and strategic national duties remain loyal, patriotic, and committed to whole-heartedly serve the people of our motherland, Zimbabwe,” he said.

He encouraged the inclusion of women, youth, and professionals across various sectors, saying their participation would strengthen the party’s grassroots structures and contribute to national goals.

“Women and the youth, as well as professionals from across the socio-economic spectrum, should find a comfortable home in our mass revolutionary party,” he said. “I expect that the dynamic and diversity of skills and competencies emerging from our membership will enable cells, branches, districts, and provinces to better respond to the needs of communities. This must ultimately accelerate the realisation of our Party objectives and Vision 2030.”

The President highlighted ZANU PF’s continued growth and electoral success, citing the party’s recent by-election victory in Glenview South Constituency as evidence of growing support in both rural and urban areas.

“Our revolutionary mass party continues to demonstrate strength and popularity,” he said.

Pres Mnangagwa also outlined ongoing government efforts to uplift communities, including youth empowerment and advancements in agriculture. He referenced the recent distribution of tipper trucks under the Presidential Youth Fund and the commissioning of AI-enabled grain silos in Kwekwe.

“My administration is implementing policies, projects, and programs that benefit all communities and improve the quality of life for our people,” he said. “The modernisation of grain storage facilities is part of our strategy to strengthen national food security and respond to climate change.”

He said Zimbabwe is expecting a bumper harvest for the 2024/2025 season and urged farmers to ensure the success of the winter wheat programme.

The Politburo meeting took place shortly after the burial of three national heroes at the National Heroes Acre: Brigadier General (Rtd) Victor Rungani, CdeWalter Basopo, and Air Vice Marshal (Rtd) Winnie Cabby Mandeya. The President led the Politburo in a moment of silence in their honour.

“They were consistent and persistent, until the very end,” he said.

The Politburo proceeded to deliberate on reports concerning the implementation of party programs and projects.
