The Children of Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association (CZLWVA) convened an inter-district meeting at Davis Hall in Bulawayo, signalling a renewed push for empowerment, registration, and national identity among the youth linked to liberation war heroes.

The gathering brought together senior Zanu PF members, including Bulawayo Province Chairman Cde Jabulani Sibanda, Vice Chairman Sam Mupedziswa, and Political Commissar Cde Gangaidzo.

Addressing a hall filled with enthusiastic members, speakers underscored the need for action, documentation, and strategic mobilisation.

Guest speaker Bulawayo Province Chairman Jabulani Sibanda delivered a passionate call for unity and political engagement.

“Being Zimbabwean must come before tribal identity. We must embrace our roots and stand united; from soldiers to builders, we are one. Mobilise for ZANU-PF. Do not let division destroy our future. We are preparing for Heroes Celebrations, and this gathering reaffirms our commitment to national development and our heritage,” he said.

National Secretary for External Affairs, Cde Gift Muhomba, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to economic empowerment.

“Thanks to our National Chairman, Cde Phineas Makombe, and support from Dr. Paul Tungwarara’s advisory office, US$500 000 has been secured for entrepreneurial projects. Once proposals are submitted, access instructions will follow. I urge all members to group themselves accordingly. We must ensure the 20 percent quota for promotions and benefits is honoured. Children of war veterans deserve access to opportunities like nursing intakes and educational support,” he said.

Further discussions will take place at NUST with Dr Tagwirei.

As attendees dispersed, the message was clear: the children of Zimbabwe’s war veterans are determined to honour their legacy through action, unity, and unwavering national pride.
