Cabinet has approved 213 priority projects for implementation in the second 100-Day Cycle of 2025, as Government intensifies efforts to accelerate development under National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) towards achieving Vision 2030.
Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, announced the development today during a post-Cabinet media briefing, revealing that the projects – which commenced on 15 May and will run until 23 August – were carefully selected for their high impact, citizen-centric focus, and rapid implementation potential.
"A total of 213 projects were submitted for implementation under this cycle, with 78 being ongoing projects and the remainder being new initiatives. These strategic projects are distributed across all provinces and Government ministries to ensure balanced national development," said Dr Muswere.
The projects show wide geographic spread with Harare province leading at 65 projects, followed by Manicaland (60), Matabeleland North (58), and Midlands (54). Other provinces have between 37-50 projects each, with some initiatives replicated across multiple locations.
Notably, 89 projects originate from resolutions of the ZANU PF 21st National People's Conference, while five stem from the Binga Development Initiatives.
Two additional projects will be implemented through Memoranda of Understanding with China.
Government has established a robust monitoring system involving site visits, validation exercises, and digital tools like the Executive Electronic Dashboard (EED) – now integrated with the Whole-of-Government Performance Management System.
"Continuous monitoring will ensure timely implementation. A comprehensive performance report will be compiled at the cycle's end to evaluate progress and highlight success stories," Dr Muswere emphasized.
The selected projects align with Zimbabwe's commitment to achieving an upper-middle-income status by 2030, focusing on quick-win initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
This 100-Day Cycle approach – a hallmark of the Second Republic's development strategy – ensures regular assessment of implementation progress while maintaining momentum on national priorities.
As the projects roll out across the country, all ministries and provincial authorities have been directed to prioritize their timely completion to maintain the Government's accelerated development trajectory.
