Chickens are coming home to roost: Political Analyst

In an interview with this publication, Political Analyst Richard Piyo, pointed out that Chamisa brought this on himself by running that party as a personal tuck-shop, and that sidelining of bigwigs such as Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti was a huge mistake.

“To begin with, his imposition of candidates was a betrayal to the electorate whose internal democratic processes where hindered. It shows that Chamisa has no interest in what the majority of his supporters think.  No wonder it’s called Chete Chete movement, Chamisa handpicked candidates to content ZANU PF, Chamisa said I want this one I don’t want that one as a candidate that is why he is comfortable with the decisions he has made.

“Disengagement is just not the best option as it were. It exposes the earlier position they took of getting into a losing election, that is strategy bankruptcy on the part of Chamisa,” said Piyo.

Moreover, another analyst Claven Chitsunge said that Chamisa’s dictatorial tendencies are what led him to lead a structure-less party leading to the current recalls of both Parliamentary and Council members

“Chamisa did this to himself and to the party, his undemocratic ways of running the party are what got us here.  So instead of threatening with disengagement, the CCC party should just address deep issues within itself which have led to the current status quo. Besides this so called disengagement, will not move ZANU PF or the region for that matter because it is an internal crisis within CCC,” said Chitsunge.

Meanwhile other CCC members have vowed to withdraw from that party to join the bigwigs such as Tendai Biti and Welshman Ncube for new leadership.
