Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has received 4.8 million text books from UNICEF yesterday in Harare to be distributed across the country’s 10 Province’s.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony of the text books at Eaglesvale School in Harare yesterday, Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Edgar Moyo said money spent on education was an investment.

“We thank the corporate community although Government makes a significant budget for education to develop this country, we cannot do it alone. We could not have gone this far without assistance from the corporate community. Money put in education is an investment,” said the Deputy Minister.

“Books shall be distributed in the upcoming weeks, Schools should look after these books for them to last longer and serve students well. Let’s look after the books and ensure Zimbabwe develops,” he said.

Harare Post has learnt that the donated text books shall be distributed across the country through the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education District offices. Each School will collect their books from their respective district offices. The text books cover all the subjects in the New Curriculum and are going to be of great assistance to primary and secondary students.
