Zimbabwe continues to score big on the tourism international scene with the United Kingdom (UK) based newsletter, Harper Bazaar ranking the country fifth in the world for top places for newlyweds to honey moon in 2020.

The newsletter places Zimbabwe fifth behind Australia, Morocco, Greece and Indonesia, and describes the country as an ideal romantic place across every climate, season and category.

Commenting on the article by Harpers Bazaar newsletter, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting, Nick Mangwana said, “Zimbabwe has once again been favourably rated as a top place for newlyweds to honey moon in 2020.

“It sits on number 5 in the top 10 behind Australia, Morocco, Greece and Indonesia,” he said.

The ranking by Harpers Bazaar comes amid an influx of world personalities  visiting Zimbabwe for their holidays including UEFA President, Aleksander Ceferin, Hollywood actors, Will Smith, and Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Speaking on Zimbabwe, Ceferin dispelled international reports describing the country as unsafe. He said, “We have been told that it is dangerous and that there is no water in Victoria Falls but we came and saw a different Zimbabwe. This is a fantastic country with fantastic people.”

Commenting in his visit to the majestic Victoria Falls, Smith highlighted that “Zimbabwe is in renaissance period and there is a lot of innovation.”

The continued seal of approval by world personalities and international publications deals a major blow to opposition parties including the MDC which is constantly on a drive to portray the country as unsafe in a bid to repel potential tourists.
