MDC factionalism order of the party

Factions within the MDC continue to escalate with illegitimate MDC leader Nelson Chamisa faction vying for Douglas Mwonzora’s blood, who they had illegally bestowed the post of Deputy Secretary for MDC International relations at last year’s null and void congress, as they try by all means to take him out.

The Chamisa faction has for a long time been looking for ways of booting Mwonzora and Former MDC Vice President Elias Mudzuri out of the party and it would seem that the Supreme Court ruling has given them the leeway. This was revealed by a highly placed source within the MDC.

MDC Mashonaland West leadership has released a statement that is currently circulating on social media platforms, where they are discouraging their members from attending meetings which they claim are being organised by Mwonzora and his allies.

“Our Intelligence Department have picked some information that the (Thokozani) Khupe (MDC T leader), Mwonzora, Komichi (MDC Secretary for Presidential Affairs) and Mudzuri (former MDC Vice President) the MDC T cabal have planned a series of meetings in Mash West and have put together their interim structures.

“By copy of this tweet all our MDC members led by president Chamisa are urgently advised not to deal with anyone mentioned above. Let us spreadthe post and share this urgent message. Do not attend their meetings. All our genuine members are hereby encouraged to give us daily updates so that we overcome this Zanu PF aligned project,” read the statement.

Source revealed that Chamisa is feeling threatened and is worried about his post. The feud between Chamisa and Mwonzora dates back to the time when Chamisa lost the Secretary General post to Mwonzora. He has always viewed Mwonzora as a threat who can grab his position as leader.

“The MDC is using this statement to organise an anti-Khupe campaign so that the congress they are planning to hold fails to get any takers or support. It is almost the same as what they are doing by forcing MDC legislators and Councillors to sign affidavits to swear their allegiance to Chamisa,” said the source.

The factional fight to boot out Mwonzora is being spearheaded by young blood the likes of MDC Deputy Treasurer General Charlton Hwende and others.  Factions within the MDC appear to be the order of the party with the current MDC Vice President Tendai Biti heading one whilst trigger happy and power hungry Deputy Chairperson Job Sikhala heads another.
