Zimbabwe will soon be receiving 30 tonnes of medicals from China to treat COVID-19 the Harare Post can report.

The Harare Post has established from a source that a consignment 30 tonnes of personal protective equipment, COVID-19 test kits, gloves, ventilators and other equipment needed to treat COVID-19 patients will be collected from China by a chartered flight despatched by Air Zimbabwe today.

The source also said the 30 tonnes of COVID-19 medicals was procured by Government to ensure treatment centres and laboratories are adequately equipped to fight the virus.

Zimbabwe has accessed the medicals after China went into full production of COVID-19 related equipment and supplies. China is currently supplying many countries around the globe with COVID-19 related treatment requirements.

Government increased its momentum to acquire life-saving equipment since it recorded the first COVID 19 death.  This latest acquisition of medicals is expected to arrive in the country in less than five working days.

Government remains concerned about the health of its citizens. The initiative by Government is a huge achievement and a relief to the people of Zimbabwe.
