Independent Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa has been accused of sexually abusing a twenty-two year old woman an act that has left her traumatized.

In an emotional interview with this publication, the lady (name withheld), said that in 2018, she was within the national executive committee of Mliswa led Youth Advocacy for Reform and Democracy (YARD) and she would regularly hold meetings with Mliswa. It was during those meetings that Mliswa began to abuse her by forcing her to have sexual intercourse with him without her consent.

“I was a member of YARD and used to have regular meetings with Mliswa. Of all the girls who were in the executive, Mliswa liked me and he would offer to drive me home after meetings. One day he proposed love to me and I said no. However, Mliswa started to caress me without my consent and eventually slept with me inside his car,” narrated the lady.

The woman said after her first sexual encounter with Mliswa, he began to pamper her with gifts and money to buy her silence. According to the woman, Mliswa continued to sleep with her on multiple occasions.

“Mliswa regularly slept with me from 2018 until the end of 2019. He would refuse to wear protection arguing that he was allergic to condoms. It’s by the grace of God that I didn’t fall pregnant for him,” said the girl.

The lady added that at one time she threatened to sue Mliswa for sexually abusing her and he bragged that she cannot do anything to him as he was legally and politically connected.

“At one time I told Mliswa that I was going to sue him for sexually abusing me. He told me that he was legally and politically connected, hence he cannot be arrested for a case with little evidence. I’m traumatized till this day due to what Mliswa did to me,” said the woman.

According to the woman, YARD was not a genuine organisation but was created by Mliswa to give him easy access to university female students so that he could quench his sexual desires. The lady said a number of young woman were abused by Mliswa after promising to pay university fees or buy cars for them.

Early this year, Mliswa’s ex-girlfriend, Susan Mutami accused him of having an affair with YARD secretary general Eleanor Kaziboni and a homosexual affair with one Goodwell Zinyama, allegations that Mliswa has since denied.
