Chamisa fed up with Ncube

The MDC Alliance leader Nelson Chamisa is reportedly fed up with one of his deputies, Professor Welshman Ncube, and is on the verge of expelling him from that party.

A source who spoke to this publication said reports of Ncube reviving his party, the MDC Green, and setting up structures in Bulawayo and the two Matebeleland provinces has irked Chamisa who has since labelled Ncube as a snake.

“The president (Chamisa) is now fed up with Ncube. He is not pleased with reports that Ncube is neglecting MDC Alliance duties while reviving the fortunes of his party in Bulawayo and the Matebeleland provinces. Ncube’s days in the MDC Alliance are now numbered as Chamisa is contemplating expelling him,” said the source.

The source added that on several occasions, Chamisa called Ncube to explain the accusations that he was sabotaging the MDC Alliance activities while working for the revival of his almost defunct MDC Green.

“Ncube has been called by Chamisa to explain allegations that he was sabotaging MDC Alliance activities. He denied the allegations although there is overwhelming evidence that Ncube is no longer one of us. He is only in MDC Alliance to recruit people, especially those in the Matebeleland region to his party,” said the source.

According to the source, Ncube is also being blamed for the chaos currently prevailing in Bulawayo province as he has created factions meant to fight national chairperson, Thabitha Khumalo, as the two are battling for the control of that province.

The source added that Ncube was not showing remorse for his divisive character and yesterday hosted officials from ZAPU and Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) who had defected to his party, the MDC Green. Ncube is believed to have told the defectors that the MDC Green was the only viable opposition party in Zimbabwe with mature leadership that can safeguard the aspirations and interests of the Ndebele people and the generality of Zimbabweans.

Efforts to get comments from Ncube were futile as his mobile phones were not reachable.
