President expresses gratitude to Zimbabweans in Davos

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has expressed gratitude to the Zimbabweans in Davos for the warm welcome he received yesterday.

Tweeting on his Twitter handle yesterday, President Mnangangwa posted that he was proud of the way Zimbabweans in the diaspora represented the country.

“Thank you to the Zimbabwean diaspora in Davos for the warm welcome! I am immensely proud of how Zimbabweans around the world represent our country!” said the President.

President Mnangagwa also had the opportunity to interact with the Zimbabweans who live in Switzerland upon arrival in Zurich.

Meanwhile, President Mnangagwa is attended a breakfast meeting on Friends of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi and Gottfried Geingob of Namibia were also present.

The meeting is running the theme “Friends of the African Continental Free Trade Area” and it explored how public-private partnerships can support the implementation of AfCTA.

AfCTA comprises 55 countries with a population of 1.3 billion and combined GDP of about US$3.4 trillion, making it the largest free trade area in the world.

President Mnangagwa is also expected to deliver opening remarks later during the day at a workshop themed “Unlocking New Investment and Services Markets.”
