Norton Member of Parliament (MP), Honourable Temba Mliswa has exposed and dismissed Susan Mutami’s lies of rape by President Mnangagwa.

Hon. Mliswa revealed Mutami’s lies through a message that she sent to him via WhatsApp on 28 January 2021. According to the WhatsApp message Mutami was deflowered by the late National Hero, Dr Sibusiso Moyo at the age of 20-21 years. This is contrary to her claims that she was raped by the President and his brother whilst she was still a teenager. In the message, she also revealed that the late National Hero had fathered Susan Mutami’s four year old child.

“I was with SB for 12 years and even though we weren’t together anymore, we remained close friends till the end and he was more of a father figure to me, advising me every step of the way how to navigate in life. So I buried my best friend today, my baby daddy and my first love. The man that took away my virginity. He left me a four year old and his only wish was for me to find stability, settle down and be happy,” read Mutami’s message.

Revelation of this conversation came to light after Mliswa provided this dialogue on Twitter following Mutami’s vicious and unfounded allegations against President Mnangagwa.

Civil rights activist and lawyer, Chido Chinyarire of Chinyararire and Partners warned the public that though it was a person’s basic human rights to be protected from cases of rape, the public should also desist from being judgemental based on political affiliation. Chinyararire said Zimbabweans should learn not to use lies in order to seek personal gains or visas in the diaspora. She also advised people to exercise caution on social media as it is also used as an avenue to channel hate towards other Citizens.

“It is disheartening to find that as a country, we are too judgmental when we hear cases involving Politicians or public figures. As a people, we should remember that suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. Zimbabwe also recognises human rights but as a people we should shun this habit of telling unfounded lies or hurting someone’s being just to get an asylum visa in the diaspora. This is not the first time that people have spread these unfounded lies to get asylum elsewhere,” said Chinyarire.

Previously, Mutami denied claims of ever having been physically involved with President Mnangagwa. This sudden allegation of rape and sexual abuse soon after became close to Nelson Chamisa have certainly aroused dirty political tactics being employed by the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
