The preparations for the 112th Zimbabwe Agricultural Show are on course, the Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS), which organises the annual event has said.

Addressing a media conference in the capital yesterday, ZAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Andrew Matibiri said that most companies were now putting final touches to their stands in preparation of the show which is set to run from the 29 August to 3 September 2022.

“The 112th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show will be held from 29 August 2022 to 3 September 2022.  Preparations for the ZAS are on course with most companies putting final touches to their stands.  With the containment of Covid-19, ZAS is excited to announce that this show is open to show-goers with a full programme of business conferences and entertainment events,” said Dr Matibiri.

He said that the show offers unique business and networking opportunities through exhibitions and conferences.

Dr Matibiri mentioned various ZAS sections that would be exhibiting at the show which include Agri-produce, Business Interface, Micro Enterprise and Commercial Exhibitions.

Commenting on the Agri-produce section, Matibiri highlighted that the exhibitions would be drawn from winners of provincial shows.

“This Section only draws winners of provincial shows, 10 from each province, so the 100 winners must first compete and win at ward, district and provincial show level to get admittance into the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show,” he said.

Dr Matibiri further revealed that ZAS partnered with several stakeholders to host business interface concurrent events.

He said that ZAS would have a dinner discussion on Monday 29 August 2022, which is expected to be hosted by the African Renaissance Sustainable Development. On Wednesday 31 August 2022 ZAS would have the Annual National Agribusiness Conference and on Thursday 1 September 2022, there would be a Mining and Agriculture Breakfast Interface with the theme ‘Anchoring Sustainable Economic Growth on Mining and Agriculture’.

Dr Matibiri stated that on Friday 2 September 2022, there would be a Zimbabwe-Botswana Business Forum, as well as the official opening of ZAS.

Meanwhile, Dr Matibiri has informed the public that gates, and ticketing issues with improved convenience were already in place, including secure parking space to ensure exhibitors and visitors` convenience.

This year`s show is running under the theme “Unequalled Business Opportunities, Accessibility, Accountability and Abundance”.
