“Chamisa is on a looting spree” - MDC Deputy Mayor Chivoto

Staff reporter

Former opposition party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Harare Deputy Mayor, Emanuel Chivoto has disclosed that Nelson Chamisa’s Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has remained structure-less so as to allow Chamisa to loot from party coffers without a trace.

Speaking at a ZANU PF Thank You rally in Mutasa South Constituency Chivoto said Chamisa is aware that he and his CCC will not stand a chance against the ruling Party and current President of Zimbabwe, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa. This has prompted him and his immediate lieutenants to loot CCC funds as they prepare for an exit from that party’s helm.

“He is aware that ZANU PF and the current President are just too much to overcome and so he has gone on a looting spree.

“Having a structure less movement is a covert plan he and his immediate lieutenants have crafted to allow them to loot funds as they prepare to exit from the party helm soon after 2023 elections,” said Chivoto.

Chivoto, together with former MDC Kwekwe legislator, Blessing Chebundo and former MDC Marondera Deputy Mayor, Farai Ndoro have since re-joined ZANU PF.

Scandals of missing funds have rocked the opposition CCC party. Two months back, US$122 000  raised by a committee, Friends of Nelson to buy a bullet proof car for Chamisa mysteriously vanished and no explanation could be given on what happened to the money by CCC treasurer, David Coltart.

In another incident an entourage of more than 83 CCC activists were left stranded in United States (US) as they cried foul about none payment of  their Travel and Subsistence funds of US$1 500 per person, again no explanation was given about the missing funds.
