CCC supporters become impatient with Chamisa

As the country fast approaches the 2023 harmonised elections, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) supporters have become increasingly impatient with Nelson Chamisa whom they continue to describe as docile and weak.

This week Chamisa battled mounting questions about his leadership qualities as CCC supporters invaded his Twitter page urging him to provide cutting-edge leadership instead of speaking to them through riddles and Bible verses.

One CCC supporter identified as Obert Takwara wrote on Chamisa’s Twitter page that people were now losing faith in his leadership and were considering other political alternatives ahead of the 2023 plebiscite.

Mukuru vanhu vakuita vachineta nemi. We don’t know where you are taking us to. Every day it’s a Bible verse after a Bible verse instead of a clear political strategy that will make us win the next election,” said Takwara.

Takwara’s sentiments were echoed by Givemore Muza who tweeted that he wished Morgan Tsvangirai was alive as Chamisa has proved to be weak and ineffective as an opposition leader.

“I wish Save (Tsvangirai) was alive. Chamisa has failed to provide the leadership we expected from him. It’s becoming clearer with each passing day that the opposition has no capacity to wrestle power from ZANU PF,” added Muza.

However, in a video he recorded yesterday and circulated via social media platforms, Chamisa called on his supporters not to despair, adding that he had something up his sleeve and will reveal his political strategy soon.

“I know that many people have been worried, concerned, and anxious on what is really happening. Tell you what, we are doing a lot. The definition of action cannot be limited to what people see. You will see with the passage of time. We have done a lot and a lot is being done. This year is going to be an excellent year,” said Chamisa.

Meanwhile, there are reports that all was not well in CCC as senior members were disgruntled that Chamisa was planning to demote them to less influential positions in the National Executive Committee (NEC) structure to be announced soon.
