Political analyst, Rutendo Matinyararire has questioned Zambians over their protest against him and ZANU PF Treasurer General, Patrick Chinamasa.

On his X account yesterday, Matinyararire posed Zambians to explain to him the basis of their protests against him and Chinamasa whereby they alleged that the duo wanted to kill the President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema.

“@Joseph-Kalimbwe on what basis are Zambians protesting against me and Honorable Chinamasa, saying that we want to kill Hichilema? When have we ever said we want to kill HH? #ZambianProtestsAgainstChinamasaAndRutendo,” said Matinyararire.

Matinyararire further asked if his freedom of speech happened to cause harm to anyone.

“Why would the free speech of a nobody cause tension?” asked Matinyararire.

Meanwhile, the United Party for National Development (UPND) and other high Government officials in Zambia had been making efforts to discredit the country`s 2023 Harmonised General Elections.

The President of Zambia who is also the Chairperson of SADC Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation appointed former Vice President Nevers Mumba as Head of the Southern African Development Community Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) for the just ended 2023 General Elections.

Mumba together with the European Union Observer Mission presented adverse reports which largely strayed outside the purviews of their mandates. Mumba and the EU attacked the legislature of Zimbabwe which is against their jurisdiction. Most of the observer missions gave the polls a thumb up, describing the elections as peaceful, credible, free and fair.
