Cracks in Chamisa's camp deepen:

…as Hwende accuses loyalists of unauthorised campaigning and fund mismanagement

The internal strife among Nelson Chamisa's loyalists has escalated dramatically, laying bare the tensions as Kuwadzana East legislator, Charlton Hwende, accuses Amos Chibaya and Gift Ostallos Siziba of unauthorised campaigning for the anticipated launch of Chamisa's party.

Yesterday, Hwende publicly denounced the actions of Chibaya and Siziba, accusing them of crisscrossing the country to campaign for the launch of Chamisa's envisioned party without proper authorization.

Through his X handle, Hwende lamented the duo's actions, highlighting their previous imposition of candidates during the 2023 elections and now abusing their purported closeness to Chamisa.

"The president (Chamisa) said he would communicate his way forward. A lot of people who were imposing candidates, mayors, and deputy mayors and abusing the president's name are now championing the so-called Blue Movement. Let's leave the president to rest and decide on the new step like he said," Hwende emphasised.

Moreover, Hwende raised concerns over the unauthorised usage of the CCC’s X handle, alleging that individuals not aligned with Chamisa were disseminating information without proper authorization, further exacerbating the internal discord.

Additionally, he hinted at financial impropriety within Chamisa's ranks, insinuating the misuse and misappropriation of funds intended for the payment of CCC election agents during the previous year's polls.

Political commentator, Kudzai Mutisi, echoed Hwende's sentiments, emphasising the need for accountability regarding the alleged mismanagement of party funds. "Money meant for polling agents was stolen, and the people who stole it must be identified," Mutisi asserted.

Furthermore, Professor Jonathan Moyo, criticised Chibaya and Siziba for their unilateral actions, accusing them of derailing Chamisa's yet-to-be-named party.

"The 'blue train' has been fatally derailed by Siziva and Chibaya after they, apparently unilaterally, started it as yet another 'Chamisa Praise and Worship' political circus," said Professor Moyo.

Another political commentator, Calvin Chitsunge, added that Chamisa’s abrupt resignation from the CCC might have caused divisions within his loyalists, as they were now all competing for his attention.

“As the power struggle intensifies within Chamisa's camp since his resignation from the CCC, the exchanges of accusations and finger-pointing among his lieutenants reflect broader challenges facing Chamisa and his yet to be launched party,” said Chitsunge.

Meanwhile, the future of Chamisa's political direction hangs in the balance amidst these internal fractures and controversies.
