Massive prospects for Zim-Angola trade mission

Anticipation is mounting for the upcoming Zim-Angola Trade Mission as high hopes of potential economic gains for the country are anticipated.

The trade mission is scheduled to take place from May 14th to 16th, 2024, in Luanda, Angola. It will focus on key sectors including manufacturing, mining, tourism, agriculture, ICT, and finance

A source from the National Trade, Development and Promotion Agency (ZIMTRADE) reiterated the organization’s commitment to facilitating trade promotion and market access for Zimbabwean businesses.

“The Zim-Angola Trade Mission serves as a strategic platform for fostering closer economic ties between our two countries. Through targeted interventions and initiatives, we aim to unlock the full potential of bilateral trade and investment opportunities,” the source said

In an exclusive interview with Tatenda Macheka, a renowned economist, Macheka emphasized the significance of the upcoming trade mission, stating, “The Zim-Angola trade mission presents a valuable platform for Zimbabwean companies to explore and capitalize on various trade opportunities within Angola’s rapidly growing market and economy.”

Macheka further elaborated on the potential outcomes, asserting that the trade mission could catalyse the establishment of partnerships, collaborations, and increased market access for Zimbabwean enterprises.

“This initiative not only opens doors for trade, but it also creates avenues for knowledge exchange and capacity building, which are essential for sustainable economic development,” Macheka added.

Reflecting on the broader implications of enhanced trade relations between Zimbabwe and Angola, Macheka emphasized the potential for job creation and economic growth.

“By tapping into Angola’s market and resources, Zimbabwean companies can diversify their revenue streams and contribute to the overall economic prosperity of both nations,” Macheka stated.

Notably, Zimbabwe’s agricultural sector offers a comparative advantage in technical skills development and Angola is interested in the diverse expertise in various Agricultural areas that Zimbabwe offers.
