African youths hail Zimbabwean democracy

African youth leaders have hailed the democracy in Zimbabwe arguing the recently held elections were a testimony that African governments can democratically choose their leaders.

Speaking at the ongoing summit dubbed World Federation of Democracy with African Region Commission held at a local hotel in Harare, youths from the region and abroad praised Zimbabwe for allowing democracy to prevail in the country.

The seminar was attended by youths from Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Botswana, Swaziland, Burundi, Saharawi Republic and Russia.

It focused on how youths can actively participate in economic opportunities, Agriculture, how they can be involvement in African Liberation Movements and in the African Political Economy among other issues.

One speaker from Russia said, “This is my first time to be in Zimbabwe but I am impressed by the level of democracy exhibited by the country,”

He said the youths in Zimbabwe have exhibited good hospitality in receiving the delegates and the country is poised to scale to greater heights,

One youth from Swaziland said, “We are interested in scouting for business opportunities for African youths so that we participate meaningfully in the mainstream economy using our skills available.”

Another youth from Burundi acknowledged the help they received from Zimbabwe during their bad days. “Zimbabwe is home to Burundians because of its hospitality,’ he said.

Botswana youths commented that, “as youths let’s take charge and do our businesses with discipline. Let us not be divided by colonial boundaries. We are one people,”

Adding that, “African problems require African solutions, as youths let’s cooperate towards building a great Africa.”
