In a stirring address during Global Prayer Day in Lagos, Nigeria, yesterday , renowned Nigerian preacher Pastor Chris Oyakhilome urged Zimbabweans to embrace prayer as a means to secure peace amid escalating tensions.
Speaking to a congregation of thousands, Pastor Oyakhilome emphasized the importance of staying peaceful during these challenging times. He also announced that March 30, 2025, would be dedicated for Christ Embassy churches worldwide to fast and pray specifically for Zimbabwe.
“Don’t let the devil take over your country. You have to understand Satan’s Modus Operandi. It’s a deception.
In times of uncertainty, our most powerful tool is prayer. We must seek divine intervention to guide us back to the path of peace and stability,” he added
Adding a local perspective on the matter, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana, took to X today to address the current sentiment among Zimbabweans.
“We’ve enjoyed peace in Zimbabwe for so long that some have started taking it for granted. For younger generations, peace is all they’ve ever known, and some may even think they’re missing out on excitement. But trust me, fellow Zimbabweans, you are missing on nothing,” Mangwana stated.
Both messages resonate with many who believe that maintaining order and stability should be the top priority. Mangwana also cautioned that disrupting this peace could lead to unforeseen challenges, urging citizens to appreciate and safeguard the current state of calm.
As the dedicated prayer day approaches, many in Zimbabwe are encouraged to join in the fast, not as a substitute for political engagement, but as a peaceful way to reinforce the nation’s commitment to unity and order.
