Zimbabweans Reject Nyokayemabhunu, Geza’s Protest Calls

Zimbabweans have dismissed calls for protests by political activist Nyokayemabhunu and former Zanu-PF Central Committee Member Blessed Geza, choosing to go about their daily activities instead.

Across major cities and towns, businesses remained open, transport operated normally, and there were no signs of unrest, despite the duo’s attempts to incite unrest.

In an interview with this publication, citizens expressed strong disapproval of Nyokayemabhunu and Geza, accusing them of trying to mislead the public for personal gain. Many questioned their credibility, pointing out that they had once been loyal to their political parties before turning against them.

“These people used to work with political parties, but now they are attacking the same organizations they once defended. How can we trust them? We have families to take care of, not time to follow confused people,” said Tatenda Chisi, a shop owner in Harare.

In Bulawayo, residents said they had no interest in disruptions. “We don’t want people who wake up one day and decide to create chaos for their own benefit. We know their agenda. They pretend to care about ordinary Zimbabweans, but all they want is attention and funding from outsiders,” said a commuter omnibus driver.

Similar sentiments were echoed in other towns, where people said they were more focused on their businesses and livelihoods than political theatrics. In Mutare, a market vendor dismissed the calls for protests, saying Zimbabweans had learned from past experiences.

“When protests happen, it’s the ordinary people who suffer the most. Shops close, transport is affected, and innocent people are harmed. We are not interested.”

Social media is also flooded with messages condemning Nyokayemabhunu and Geza. Many users dismissed them as opportunists who only started calling for protests after falling out with their former allies.

“If they really cared about people, they would have spoken out before. Why now? It’s clear they have their own agenda,” one user posted.

Authorities confirmed that the situation has remained peaceful across the country. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said they were monitoring developments but noted that people had ignored the calls for protests.

As the day progresses, Zimbabweans are continuing to focus on their daily routines, showing no interest in being swayed by individuals they see as untrustworthy. The rejection of Nyokayemabhunu and Geza’s calls is a clear message that the public is prioritizing stability and economic progress over disruptive political agendas.
