Thousands of Chinese tourists expected to visit Zim

Zimbabwe will soon benefit from thousands of tourists who are expected to visit the country following the Tour Africa- New Horizon tourism Chinese project initiative to promote Chinese tourists to visit the country, Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has said.

ZTA today on its Twitter handle said Mr Chu Ziyu Director General of Zheijang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism speaking in China while hosting a press conference together with Touchroad International Holdings Group said thousands of tourists were going to visit Zimbabwe from Zheijang Province.

“The Tour Africa - New Horizon tourism project will run for the next 5 years and will see over 10 000 tourists from Zheijang Province visiting Zimbabwe. Here in China closer ties between Zheijang Province and Wild Africa are being formulated. We welcome thousands of Chinese tourists to explore Africa.

“Touchroad International Holdings Group has organized a chartered flight for 312 Chinese tourists, leading travel agencies and media on a tour of Zimbabwe, Djibouti, Tanzania and other African destinations. I applauded Zimbabwe for easing the visa process for the Chinese. Direct flights to tourism destinations are currently being worked on. Many African countries showed interest on the project but Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Djibouti emerged as favourites,” said the Director General of Zheijang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

Harare Post is aware that during the press conference in China, Mr He Liehui Chairman of Touchroad International Holdings Group who is also Tourism Ambassador to Africa shared his grand African experience which has now resulted in him working jointly with Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism venturing into African tourist destinations.
