China offers training for Zim tourism sector

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) in collaboration with Welcome China, will be conducting the China Ready Certification Training Program to all the tourism and related industries in Zimbabwe.

China Ready Certification Training Program is meant to train tourism operators and related businesses to attract the Chinese tourism market to visit Zimbabwe tourist destinations, said ZTA.

“China Ready is a training program that prepares tourism operators and related businesses with skills on how to best attract the Chinese market.

“These skills include, Chinese culture and customs, Chinese industry specific knowledge, marketing, segmentation, trending technologies, behaviour of Chinese visitors and decision-making process among others,” said   the Authority.

ZTA also said the country was currently renewing its tourism destinations for the Chinese tourist arrivals.

“With the destination renewed emphasis on the Chinese market, it is critical that all the key tourism stakeholders and enablers invest in fully understanding the Chinese tourism market,” said ZTA.

China Ready Certification Training Program shall be conducted by the Welcome China Chief Executive, Dr Marcus Lee from 4-8 April 2019 in Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls respectively.

Harare Post has learnt that recently, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Monica Mutsvangwa congratulated the Chinese for assisting Zimbabwe in various local projects some of which have led to mega deals and also spilling into cultural products such as a new movie titled, “When Africa Meets You” which is the first Chinese film wholly done in Zimbabwe and was premiered early this month in Harare.
