In line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s promise for his Government to be a listening Government, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Professor Mthulli Ncube yesterday informally engaged entrepreneurs in Nyanga.

Prof Ncube gave the entrepreneurs the platform to air their challenges and suggestions on how Government can improve to better how the entrepreneurs conduct their business.

The Finance Ministry posted on its Twitter handle, “The Minister of Finance, Hon. Professor Mthuli Ncube today paid an impromptu visit to entrepreneurs in Nyanga earlier this morning and engaged in serious conversations and got feedback on the challenges they are facing in conducting their business operations.”

Responding to the tweet, Allan Musoro commented the Minister encouraging other Cabinet Ministers to emulate him and work towards improving citizen’s lives.

“This is commendable, we need more Cabinet Ministers who take their time to meet with the public who may not have access to their offices and get feedback from them on how best they can serve them.”

Also commenting on the post, Sungano Chisina applauded Prof Ncube and expressed interest in the National Venture Fund which Prof Ncube highlighted would be rolled out in February 2020, while addressing his National Budget presentation last year.

“Looking forward to the National Venture Fund assisting the young entrepreneurs grow to become big businesses,” he said.

Expanding on the National Venture Fund, Prof Ncube stressed that the fund will be aimed at assisting entrepreneurs facing challenges which continue to negatively affect their growth, the major one being limited patient capital raising options. Prof Ncube also revealed that the fund would not be sector specific and open to anyone.
