The Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS), which was postponed in August due to COVID-19 pandemic, has been rescheduled for 28th to the 31st of this month in Harare under strict COVID-19 guidelines, the Harare Post can reveal.

Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS), Acting Chief Executive Officer, Eng. Engelbert Makaure said the show will give stakeholders an opportunity to show case inventions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Preparations for this year’s ZAS 110 come after a national lockdown as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic that was declared a national disaster at the beginning of the year. However, the national lockdown has been significantly eased, thus the show presents an exciting platform to showcase innovations in response to the pandemic.

“ZAS 110 will be a show with a difference as it will demonstrate the resilience of the Zimbabwean people and their determination to succeed under the most trying conditions especially the unprecedented challenges triggered by the pandemic.

“ZAS 110 will be held on 28 to 31 October 2020,” he said.

He said some aspects of the show will be virtual.

“There is broad interest from companies as we have received a lot of enquiries and some companies are already on the ground working on their stands,” Makaure said.

The 2020 ZAS will be running under the theme, “Synergies for Growth-Cooperate, Collaborate, Complement” to rally support for the cause of agriculture and attendant value chains for increased “Production, Productivity and Profitability”.
