Victoria Falls to launch Stock Exchange

The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange Limited ("VFEX") has been granted permission to launch and commence trading of securities.

In a press release yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange, Justin Bgoni said, "The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange Limited ("VFEX") is pleased to advise stakeholders that it has been granted the approval to launch and commence trading of securities by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ)."

Bgoni said the official opening will take place at the end of this week.

"The official opening of VFEX is scheduled for Friday 23 October 2020, at its new offices in Victoria Falls. The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Honourable Professor Mthuli Ncube will be the guest of honour,"said Bgoni.

He further said that Trading, Depository services, Clearing and Settlement on VFEX would commence on Monday 26 October 2020 adding that VFEX will issue further details on these.

VFEX went on to thank its stakeholders for making this launch possible.

"VFEX extends its profound gratitude to all stakeholders including the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe and all market participants for the assistance rendered during the establishment of the exchange," he said.

This is a positive development which will see investments in stable companies making profits for investors.
