CDF boost sparks rural school development

True to its mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, the Second Republic continues to walk the talk in advancing rural development, with the Community Development Fund (CDF) making a visible impact in Shurugwi Rural District.

Three schools—Tangole Range Primary, MsaveziPrimary, and Chironde Primary—are undergoing major infrastructure upgrades that promise to transform the learning environment for hundreds of children.

Thanks to the CDF, the schools are receiving essential building materials, including cement, to support the construction of new classroom blocks and other key facilities.

This initiative is a game-changer for communities that have long struggled with inadequate educational infrastructure.

In an interview with the media yesterday, ShurugwiNorth legislator, Joseph Mpasi reaffirmed Government’s commitment to ensuring every child has access to quality education, regardless of location.

“Our children are torchbearers of the dreams and aspirations for a better, modern and industrialised Zimbabwe. The Second Republic will continue to support them by providing the necessary teaching and learning resources to promote inclusive and quality education,” he said.

Local residents are already witnessing the benefits.

“The coming in of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has seen our school being transformed from using a dilapidated house to having two new classroom blocks. This is commendable, and we want to thank President Mnangagwa for remembering our school and community,” said one appreciative community member.

Staff at the schools echoed similar sentiments.

“Previously, we had a serious shortage of learning space. After raising our concerns with the leadership, our school was among the first to benefit from the CDF. We are really happy, and this will go a long way in solving some of our key challenges,” said one teacher who requested anonymity.

The on-going developments underscore a broader national effort to uplift marginalised communities and provide young learners with the tools they need for a brighter future.

In line with Vision 2030 and Government’s developmental thrust, the CDF is proving to be more than just a fund—it is a lifeline for rural schools and a symbol of inclusive progress.

As the new classroom blocks rise from the dust, they stand as a testament to the Government’s resolve to invest in human capital and ensure no Zimbabwean child is left behind.
