A 33-year-old man from Zimbiru Village in Domboshava has appeared in court facing charges of aggravated indecent assault.

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Councillor for Goromonzi RDC ward 4, Tendai Mashingaidze is being accused of engaging in inappropriate conduct with two male juveniles, aged 15 and 16.

The court heard that Mashingaidze allegedly had a relationship with the complainants, during which the indecent assaults occurred. The case came to light after he was reportedly caught in the act with one of the victims, leading to his arrest.

Mashingaidze was remanded in custody.

The matter comes amid rising concerns in cases of indecent aggravated assault and sodomy.

Last month, Anymore Gumbo, a Deputy School Head at Masase High School in Mberengwa made headlines for allegedly sodomising over 35 pupils at the school.
