Chegutu residents have expressed their gratitude to Zanu PF Member of Parliament for Chegutu WestConstituency, Hon. Shacky Timburwa, for his pivotal role in facilitating the reopening of the Chegutu District Registry Offices, which had been closed since January due to storm damage.

The offices resumed full operation on May 12, 2025, much to the relief of locals who depend on its services.

Excited residents gathered at the registry this week, praising Timburwa for his swift intervention in ensuring the facility was restored.

"We are truly grateful to Hon. Timburwa for stepping in when we needed these services the most. This office is vital for our daily needs, and his efforts show that he truly cares for the people," said Chipo Moyo, a Chegutu mother who had been struggling to obtain a birth certificate for her child.

Another resident, Tafadzwa Chiweshe, added, "Many of us were stranded when the office was closed. But thanks to our MP, we can now access IDs, birth certificates, and other documents without travelling long distances. This is the kind of leadership we appreciate."

The Chegutu residents say they are confident that under leaders like Timburwa, more developmental projects will follow, bringing tangible improvements to their lives.

"This is leadership in action. When our leaders listen and respond to our needs, it gives us hope for a brighter future," said local businessman Tendai Maphosa.

In response to the overwhelming praise, Hon. Timburwa humbly stated that his actions were in line with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of inclusive development.

"My duty as a public servant is to ensure that vital services reach our people without delay. President Mnangagwa has always emphasised that no one and no place should be left behind, and this is what drives me to work tirelessly for the people of Chegutu West. The reopening of this registry office is just one step in our broader mission to improve service delivery and uplift our communities," said Timburwa.

With the registry offices back in operation, Chegutu residents can now access critical documents with ease, marking another milestone in the Government’s push for efficient and accessible service delivery.
