ZANU PF youth league launched a skills data base that is set to ensure that all youths aged from 15-35 across political divide match their skills to relevant vacancies and provided information relating to their qualifications.

Speaking at the launch  dubbed  "The Zimbabwe National Youth skills database, Empowering the Youth" at the Party Headquarters today, Head of Youth Affairs, Cde Lewis Mathuthu said registration was open to all youths in Zimbabwe.

"The National Youth skills (NYS) database is an online platform open to all Zimbabwean youths to register their skills and qualifications. The NYS is an innovation initiated by ZANU PF Youth League," said Mathuthu.

He said the database allowed for the ZANU PF youths to have and match those skills to relevant vacancies, provide information about advanced training workshops as well as loans and investment opportunities the youth want.

"This is the first of its kind in Zimbabwe and all skills sets and talents are welcome," said Mathuthu.

He said the database catered for a diverse population as represented by the Zimbabwean youths whose skills ranges from hairdressing, carpentry, engineering, photography among others.

"The database will provide information about the areas of interest for employment and skills development among other things. The Youth league appreciates that not all skills are acquired through university graduate programs, as skills acquisition is not limited to formal education, “said Mathuthu.

He said the Youth League would be able to link the youth according to their pertinent skills with the relevant potential opportunities identified at provincial level as well as any opportunities from investors that may arise.

"The NYS database will give a clear indication of skills that the Youth League may not be wary of, and with the assistance of the effective analysts within the youth league, we will be able to come up with ways in which all skills can be fully utilized for economic development, " said Mathuthu.
