‘ED inherited a bankrupt economy, give him chance’

Zanu PF Chinhoyi District yesterday held an outreach meeting at the party office to deliberate on state of the party where they noted that President Emmerson Mnangagwa inherited a bankrupt government, hence cannot use fake economic policies to turn around the economy.

A party official who attended the meeting told the Harare Post that it was disheartening to note that some Non Governmental Organisations (NGO) are working with MDC and other civil society groups to sabotage government's efforts to turn around the economy.

"President Mnangagwa inherited a bankrupt government with debts of more than 10 billion dollars; hence he can't implement fake economic policies for popularity. People should be patient enough, unite and support the new dispensation to find everlasting solutions to the current economic crisis.

"It's unfortunate that the president is facing hostilities from the West using NGOs which are supporting Chamisa. USA and Chamisa are taking advantage of people's pains due to transitional policies and austerity measures being implemented by government. They want to cause loyal Zanu PF cadres to turn against its leadership, which is not easy," she said.

The meeting urged party members to defend the party and work hard to mobilise party support and also to expose all rogue NGOs and report all people mobilising anti-government demonstrations to the police.

Members present commended government efforts to cushion the public through availing affordable ZUPCO buses and GMB silo shops which offer cheaper groceries.
