ZANU PF National Political Commissar, Victor Matemadanda took a swipe at the MDC Alliance frontman, Nelson Chamisa for being a perennial loser, puppet of the West and opportunist who has nothing to offer to the electorate apart from his trouble rousing antics of constantly calling for nationwide demonstrations.
Addressing ZANU PF supporters in Zaka, Masvingo - gathered for the Zaka East by-election campaign rally, Matemadanda said, “Chamisa is an opportunist who has no capacity to do anything for the people having even failed to fund for their founder (Morgan Tsvangirai)’s burial.”
“He is just a puppet of the West advancing their agenda. Despite the much hyped connections with the West, MDC failed to even give Tsvangirai a decent burial, instead his medical bills and burial were actually funded by the State.”
In an effort to continue riding on Tsvangirai’s fame, Chamisa even frog marched Vincent Tsvangirai into becoming Glen-View South legislator.
Matemadanda then urged supporters to rally behind the party’s candidate as MDC had nothing to offer them and assured Government’s developmental pledge.
“This Government is development oriented and not mere politicking as evidenced by the improved state of the economy though efforts are being derailed by some selfish businesspersons intending to profiteer from the suffering Zimbabweans.”
He then highlighted that if this pattern persists, it might see Government re-introducing price controls to protect the general public, as well as emergence of People’s Shops which will be reasonably priced to cushion the public.
Speaking during the same event, State Provincial Minister, Ezra Chadzamira assured the electorate that the economic challenges currently facing the nation were temporary but will not derail the ruling party.
“Instead, Government is going to ensure adequate food (maize) supply for the people in light of the pending drought, as well as improve transport by offering ZUPCO buses to the rural areas.
He also added that Government had assured to build at least three boreholes in each of the wards.
Meanwhile, the Political Commissar also launched the Insiza North Ward 15 by-election campaign programme in Filabusi last Friday where he also urged people to rally behind the party and not to align themselves to individual candidates in order to avoid figure discrepancies between party candidates and the party’s presidential candidate.
He also thanked Matebeleland South for ignoring demonstration calls by MDC and advised the people to shun those revisiting the Gukurahundi narrative for their own political expediency.
