‘Accept defeat, shun violence’ - Chamisa warned

By Patience Rashai

Continuous acts of desperation by embattled MDC leader, Nelson Chamisa to invoke violence and relive his election defeat debate - claiming rigging - after losing to President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been described as contemptuous as the election result was God ordained, and not yet Chamisa’s time.

Speaking during a church sermon, Apostle and founder of Heartfelt International Ministries, Apostle Tavonga Vutabwashe took a dig at Chamisa urging him to shun violence as this would lead to the ultimate demise of his party.

“Continuously looking forward to demonstrations might obviously seem reasonable to those surrounding you but it’s not wise. When someone is hunting, they should not hunt faster than the breathing of the animal they are hunting, otherwise you will end up exterminating all the animals while remaining behind with mere hunting tools. Likewise you might remain with a party without any supporters.

“As we look into the future, if you continue on this trend, Zimbabwe might lose another opposition party as people will eventually get fade up and begin to walk away in numbers.

He cautioned, “Whilst you are doing that (demonstrations) the ruling party will be regaining its seats, which that you had (Councillors, Member of Parliament). So despite the noise everywhere about your party, in terms of structural influence you will be losing,” said Apostle Vutabwashe.

Relating to the past presidential elections, he urged Chamisa to accept defeat as it was never his time.

“Before we went into elections, God showed me the winner and how it was going to happen. And I shared it with the right people, who were privileged to hear that message.

“To my brother from the opposition (Nelson Chamisa), the influence you had, was not confirming your time, the time was never yours. Despite how many people were celebrating you, God made the game plan at the last minute, it was never your time.

“The dignity of your political career was in the offers that were given by the current leadership, though it was tricky to accept because of the amount of influence on the other side, but wisdom was to accept it,” added Apostle Vutabwashe.

This comes at the wake of continuously failed demonstrations which the opposition has been embarking on since losing to ZANU PF in 2018.
