Zimbabwe is grateful of the recent resolution by SADC to call for the immediate and unconditional removal of the illegal sanctions.

This was said by Dr Obert Mpofu in his address at Former Liberation Movement of Southern Africa meeting which is being held in Victoria Falls.

Dr Mpofu also warned that sanctions had become the new tool by which the west was using to obliterate the Former Liberation Movements.

“We are also grateful of the recent resolutions by the SADC to call for the immediate and unconditional removal of sanctions on Zimbabwe by the west. It is clear that Africa is now speaking together in one corner and thus re-igniting the ‘injury to one and is injuring to all” principle,” Dr Mpofu said.

He also said, “Zimbabwe is optimistic that the SADC Anti Sanctions resolution of setting the 25th of October 2019, as the day with which Southern Africa will express its displeasure on the continued imposition of sanctions against Zimbabwe will also become a historical subject of reference to the African Union.

“Sanctions have been used as a diplomatic missile to injure our self-confidence and subjecting us to unilateral terms of dictated democracy aimed at impelling regime change and the consequent obliteration of the Former Liberation Movements,” said Dr Mpofu.

Speaking at the same meeting ZANU PF Politburo Secretary for Science and Technology FLM members to mobilise its members to take anti-sanctions drive to all European Union and US Embassies in the region.

Cde Mutsvangwa also warned that Afrophobic attacks witnessed in South Africa was yet another manifestation of the divide and rule tactic used by white capital.
