...Chamisa orders them to form their parties

Escalating ructions continue to consume the MDC as its leader Nelson Chamisa has come out guns blazing threatening all disgruntled members to resign and form their own political parties, the Harare Post can exclusively report.

This comes as the MDC is still struggling to heal the rifts that were created by Chamisa’s contested ascendancy to the party’s leadership in 2018, following the death of the party’s founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai.

Sources from the Morgan Richard Tsvangirai (MRT) House revealed that Chamisa summoned the Harare Province Assembly Executive to the party headquarters this week over their failure to mobilise people to attend the parallel clean-up campaign in Epworth on 6 March 2020.

“Chamisa intended to address a crowd of over tens of thousands of people in Epworth but only a handful attended. After he got wind of the poor attendance, he cancelled the programme,” said the sources who asked for anonymity.

Impeccable sources who confided in this publication further revealed that Chamisa, this week, after summoning the Assembly Executive, threatened to fire the entire Assembly in the same manner he did to the Masvingo Province Assembly.

“Chamisa threatened to fire the entire assembly executive for allegations of sabotaging him. Addressing the meeting, Chamisa revealed that he was aware of the plot to ouster him,” revealed the sources.

As factional fights escalate in the party, Chamisa is said to have finger-pointed Tendai Biti, Job Sikhala, Morgen Komichi and Douglas Mwonzora as the senior members baying for his toppling. He alleges that the same top members fighting him, used to fight Morgan Tsvangirai.

Minutes of the meeting in possession of this publication revealed that Chamisa fired salvos against Lynette Karenyi-Kore and Tabitha Khumalo for not disciplining party members who are fighting him on social media.

Chamisa warned Karenyi-Kore and Khumalo that very soon big heads will roll as he can’t remain seated while indiscipline is happening in the party.

Ructions further escalated in the meeting when Chamisa turned to the Youth Assembly labelling Obey Sithole and the Youth Organising Secretary, Morgen Ncube as useless.

Sources revealed that Chamisa fumed against the Youth Assembly for failing to unleash successful demonstrations as per the promise.

“Chamisa called the youths useless. He told them that they are not as brave as he was during his time,” revealed the source.

In the same vein, Chamisa threatened to fire the entire Bulawayo Assembly as tribalism cases continue to hinder party business in the province.
