By Political Reporter

Newly elected Mashonaland Central Province District Coordinating Committee (DCC) Chairpersons have said they are geared to work for the party in order for it to garner an overwhelming victory in the upcoming 2023 elections.

Speaking to this publication, Mt Darwin DCC Chairperson, Comrade Cletous Ranganai Chiminyu said his immediate task is to strengthen the party in Mt Darwin.

“I’m privileged to be the Chairperson for a District that always gives an overwhelming victory to ZANU PF. Together with other members of Mt Darwin DCC Executive; we are going to work towards strengthening the party. It’s our duty to explain to the people Government policies and how the party is going to improve their lives. We want to make the party to be an attractive entity that will attract both the old and the young. By 2023, ZANU PF should be the party of choice in Mt Darwin and that will guarantee us victory,” said Cde Chiminyu.

Chiminyu further said as the chairperson, he is going to explain to the people the achievements of the Transitional Stabilisation Programme (TSP) and urge them to support the National Development Strategy Phase One (NDS1) so that Vision 2030 can be achieved.

“Our people need to know what the Government is doing for them. It’s our duty as leaders to explain to the people the achievements of the TSP and urge them to support the NDS1 because its success will see the country attaining an Upper Middle Class Economy status by 2030 as declared by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, “added Chiminyu.

Chiminyu added that his duties as the Chairperson will be guided by the instructions and advice from the Provincial Executive. He further said it is his wish that ZANU PF members in Mt Darwin be taught the party’s ideology as that will instill the spirit of patriotism in them.

He added that as leaders, they are going to urge people to start income generating projects so that they can be financially stable.

Shamva DCC Chairperson Comrade Obert Muchemwa added that as the Chairperson, he is going to support the President’s call for members to shun corruption and be hard workers.

Comrade Muchemwa further said he is going to be on the forefront in mobilizing people to support Government’s Pfumvudza concept to ensure food security in the country.

Muchemwa added that as the Chairperson, it is his duty and other leaders to make sure that ZANU PF structures in Shamva are solid and said he is going to urge members to continue recruiting new members for the party in preparation for 2023 harmonized elections.

The DCC structures that have been re-introduced after they were banned in 2012 are expected to unite the party and act as a springboard for entrenching ZANU PF’s revolutionary ideology, constitutionalism and strong grassroots mobilization.
