I was raped by Prof Moyo: Mazibuko

Former Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development and self-exiled G40 kingpin, Professor Jonathan Moyo has been accused of rape by model instructor Mrs Sipho Mazibuko.

Writing on her Facebook page last Friday, Mazibuko said the rape occurred some 11 years ago but Moyo used his influence as a Cabinet Minister to cause the case to die a silent death.

Mazibuko further said Professor Moyo had the audacity of raping her while she was pregnant.

“Well, I was sexually abused by Professor Jonathan Moyo and was too scared to even report or tell anyone until that fateful day 11 years ago when I went and told the police at Bulawayo Central Police Station what he had done to me,”  said Mazibuko.

Mazibuko said Moyo used his influence to evade arrest and she ended up being admitted at a mental hospital although she was not mentally sick.

“I went to the police to open a docket against these evil men who had tormented my mind with sexual and emotional abuse. The police recorded my statement but nothing was done to investigate my case. Till today my docket died a natural death. After my police report I was admitted and the same men made sure my admission to hospital was turned into a medical case. I was made a fool.

“My case didn’t even see the light of day. The police did nothing to those powerful men. They continued with their lives and I languished in a mental hospital. I had given them their names in my docket but they had to be protected because they were in Government offices, they were ministers,” lamented Mazibuko.

One Netizen, Musa Kasamba said Mazibuko is not the only victim of Professor Moyo. He said Moyo abused female members of Pax Afro musical group.

“The self-exiled Professor also preyed on former Pax Afro lead vocalist Yulith Ndlovu who has now taken to heavy drinking and clubbing to drown out a suitcase of sexual abuse memories.

Political analyst Knowledge Matare said Professor Moyo, who is believed to be in Kenya, should be extradited to answer to his criminal charges.

“Rape is the worst thing that can happen to a woman. The Zimbabwean Government should work with the Kenyan Government to extradite Professor Moyo so that he can answer to his criminal charges. He should not be afraid if he is innocent,” said Matare

Efforts to get a comment from Professor Moyo were fruitless as he didn’t respond to questions sent on his Twitter handle yesterday.
