Sikhala blasted for fermenting political chaos

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim deputy national chairperson Job Sikhala has been accused of fermenting political chaos in the country just to score cheap political goals.

People who spoke to this publication said that Sikhala should learn to be a law abiding citizen and stop cooking up stories just to tarnish the image of the Government and the ruling ZANU PF party.

Ignatius Chareka of Chitungwiza said that Sikhala lied on his tweet yesterday that the people of that dormitory town were angry at the alleged disappearance of Moreblessing Ali and were contemplating a mass demonstration.

“Sikhala is lying that the atmosphere is tense in Chitungwiza over the alleged disappearance of Moreblessing Ali.The truth is that Ali is not even a CCC member as claimed by Sikhala. Secondly, she is not even popular to stir the emotions of people enough to stage a demonstration on her behalf,” said Chareka.

Chareka added that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has promised to get to the bottom of the disappearance of Ali, hence Sikhala should wait for police to complete its investigations without trying to ride on that to score cheap political goals.

Another Chitungwiza resident, Martín Dondo, added that Sikhala as a lawyer should advocate for peace instead of violence as he is currently doing.

“We expect Sikhala to promote peace and tolerance. It’s surprising that as a lawyer and a leader, he is seen promoting violence and lawlessness. He should stop fermenting political violence in the country,” added Dondo.

Meanwhile, the Police have dismissed unfounded allegations that Ali was abducted by suspected ZANU PF members.

In a statement last Monday, the ZRP said that initial investigations had revealed that Ali disappeared while in the company of her former lover Pius Jamba. Investigations have so far failed to link Jamba to any political party.
