President reassigns Davis Marapira

President Mnangagwa has reassigned Honourable Davis Marapira from the position of Minister of State in the Office of the President and Cabinet to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development.

In a statement yesterday, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said the appointment was with immediate effect.

“His Excellency, the President has in terms of section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe of 2013 transferred the Minister of State in the Office of the President and Cabinet in charge of Monitoring the Implementation of Special Agricultural and Related Programmes, Honourable Davis Marapira, to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development to be responsible for Agricultural Colleges, Water Resources and Irrigation Development, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. The appointment is with immediate effect,” reads the statement

According to Dr Sibanda, Marapira will report to Minister Dr Anxious Masuka.

Meanwhile, the President also elevated Reverend Paul Bayethe Damasane from the post of Permanent Secretary in the Office of former Vice President Kembo Mohadi, and former Transport and Infrastructural Development Permanent Secretary Engineer Amos Marawa, who have now assumed the positions of Deputy Chief Secretary and National coordinator in the Office of the President and Cabinet respectively.
