CCC re-activates militants groups ahead of election

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has re-activated the Vanguard and Democratic Resistance Committees (DRCs) militants to terrorise urban dwellers posing as ZANU PF youths, Harare Post has learnt.

A source within CCC disclosed that Harare and Bulawayo will soon experience an escalation of violent activities perpetrated by CCC’s Vanguard and DRCs militants who will be false flagged as ZANU PF youths.

The operation will range from malicious damage to property, badmouthing Government projects and inciting citizens to protest against detention of Job Sikhala.

“Chamisa approved an operation that has seen Vanguard and DRCs being deployed into the streets of Harare and Bulawayo false flagged as ZANU PF youths. In this operation, small units will harass citizens and destroy property whilst other units will solely engage in badmouthing Government projects at commuter omnibus ranks,” said the source.

The Vanguard or the DRCs are CCC’s militant groups that have been trained under the United States (US) Government sponsorship in order to enforce regime change in Zimbabwe.

Two weeks ago, a gang marshalled by the notorious Chinodya brothers, namely Alias and Last, unleashed an orgy of political violence against Obey Magombo simply for wearing a ZANU PF t-shirt in Mbare.

The opposition party’s violence has also shown no respect even for members of the Fourth Estate resulting in Ruvimbo Muchenje, a News Hawks journalist being harassed and humiliated at a CCC thank you rally in Chinhoyi at Gahadzima grounds. Her offence was for taking pictures at the same rally.

In May 2019, seven people belonging to the Vanguard and DRC militant groups were arrested and charged with treason after they attended training facilitated by Center for Non-Violence Action and Strategies (CANVAS) in the Maldives. Their training in Maldives included strategies on how to oust a seating Government and specialised firearms training.

Events dating back to August 2018 have revealed that CCC has mutated into a political boxing stable in which the party has resorted to violence in order to settle scores with any political party or organisation that does not share their ideologies.

In 2007, the same two militant groups were responsible for bombings of ZRP Marimba Station, Harare Central Police Station and Mutare Chisamba Police Station. They were also used to assault Elton Mangoma to settle in house disputes when CCC was still running as MDC.
