Government set to improve health care services

The Second Republic has committed to improving the delivery of health services to bring a world class health care which is a pre-requisite for an upper middle income society.

 Vice President and Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Constantino Chiwenga stated that Government was dedicated to enhancing the health sector.

 “Our visualization is to bring world-class healthcare to all the people, across the length and breadth of this great country. The Second Republic promises to leave no one and no place behind,” said VP.

 The Vice President mentioned that regardless of the economic challenges, his ministry had embarked on the construction of several health facilities across the country which have been also equipped with up to date equipment.

“Despite the economic challenges, my ministry has managed to construct and complete several health facilities across the country and fully equip them with modern equipment,” said VP.

He also notified of the projects implemented by his ministry which include the commissioning of the Gweru Provincial Hospital Centre of Excellence and the Quinary Teaching and Specialist Hospital in Harare.

“I recently commissioned the Gweru Provincial Hospital Centre of Excellence and we have broken ground for the Quinary Teaching and Specialist Hospital here in Harare, to name a few of our key projects.Our goal is to put Zimbabwe back on the global map for quality healthcare and innovation,” he said

Some of the ongoing projects which the ministry is implementing include the construction of 30 health centers and five district hospitals across the country through a US$210 million facility under the Ministry of Health and Child Care in collaboration with NMS Infrastructure limited, a British owned company.
