President Mnangagwa yesterday launched the ZANU-PF political returnees program dubbed the Kumusha, Home, Ekhaya (KHE) running under the theme, 'We heard the call, We voluntary came, Adding value to nation building.'

In his address, President Mnangagwa welcomed opposition Party members who had come back to ZANU-PF saying the Party is home to all. President Mnangagwa reiterated that ZANU PF continues to meet people's aspirations.

"The return of the political returnees is a symbol that ZANU PF's arm stretches and embraces all and the Party is deeply rooted in the will and aspirations of the people. The party will always preach peace and unity now and beyond.

“In this regard, those who are still in the opposition are welcome and ZANU-PF will continue to facilitate their return home," said President Mnangagwa.

The President said loyalty patriotism must be part of ZANU-PF members’ DNA as the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology has the role of acquainting the members with Party's ideology. The President shunned the concept of 'You and Them' in ZANU-PF saying there should be unity of purpose.

The new Party members were also urged to avail their knowledge to help Zimbabwe prosper.

“I further call upon you, the new party members, to avail your knowledge, skills and experience while adding value to our people-centred governance mix and ongoing development initiatives. Together, let us build a prosperous and empowered Zimbabwe, brick by brick and stone upon stone", said President Mnangagwa.

Notables among those who confirmed their joining of ZANU PF was the former MDC Member of Parliament for Masvingo urban, Tongai Matutu, Collins Tsvangirai the brother to Morgan Tsvangirai and former ZINASU student President.

ZANU PF director for Information and Publicity, Cde Tafadzwa Mugwadi indicated that close to 5 000 members had recently joined the ruling party. ZANU-PF has now established a returnees’ desk under the commissariat led by Cde Chebundo.
