Villagers in Rushinga have welcomed the refurbishment and the anticipated reopening of Gwangwawa clinic as it would be turned into a model healthcare centre.

The clinic was prioritised when the new dispensation came into office and has been refurbished using devolution funds and cash from the Constituency Development Fund, Harare post has learnt. One of the village headmen, Tinotenda Mabika, said that they were happy with how the Government had come to their rescue by speeding up the construction of the clinic to improve their health system.

“Government has come to our rescue by speeding up construction of the clinic to improve our health system. Gwangwawa clinic used to offer antenatal services during the liberation struggle but was abandoned soon after the war. Things are finally falling into place. Before, we had nowhere to gowhen we needed emergent treatment, villagers had to pay overpriced amounts for transport to get to the nearest clinic which offered more services. This is a thing of the past now as our clinic will be operational soon.

“With the coming of the new dispensation  led by President Mnangagwa, the clinic has been prioritised. We are happy to see the devolution funds and the constituency development fund being channelled towards the clinic. The notion of leaving no place and no one behind is being put into motion and Rushinga is one of those places that is not being left behind,” revealed Mabika.

Meanwhile, the community was also excited that there have been other developmental projects such as borehole drilling, road rehabilitation and new classroom blocks in schools as the Government is leaving noone and noplace behind in line with vision 2030
